COVID in California: Ex-FDA chief refutes false claims about kids and vaccine mandates - San Francisco Chronicle

Claims circulating on conservative social media that a CDC panel’s recommendation to add COVID-19 vaccine to immunization schedules equates to mandates for schoolchildren are untrue, former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said Sunday

Data shows most Californians aren't getting their latest bivalent booster — even in San Francisco, with the second-highest rate of uptake across the state besides Marin County, less than 20% of eligible adults had gotten the shot as of Oct. 18. The slow uptake has Bay Area health officials concerned.
