Denying summary judgment against a former restaurant supply employee’s claim for sex discrimination, a federal district court in Tennessee determined that a reasonable factfinder could find that the employer’s vice president of business development harbored discriminatory animus toward transgender individuals, and there was a genuine dispute regarding whether and to what extent he played a role in the employee’s termination. The court did grant summary judgment against the employee’s claims for retaliation and a hostile work environment, finding he did not engage in protected activity and that the purported harassment was not severe or pervasive enough to alter the terms of his employment (Ward v.
