DOL Joins Multistate ‘Worker Protection Alliance’ - CBIA

The Connecticut Department of Labor has joined a multistate alliance that facilitates the sharing of resources and data, including employer records and filings.

In a Jan. 14 statement, DOL officials described the six-state agreement as a “worker protection alliance” that “helps labor agencies identify bad actor employers.”

The partnership features labor agencies from Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York.

Under the agreement, states agree to share data, intelligence, and investigative resources—as allowed by respective state laws—including:

  • Wage claims
  • Audit reports
  • Investigation reports
  • Payroll records
  • Internal labor department records
  • Employer government filings and submissions
  • Employer registration records
  • Employer position statements
  • Lien documents
  • Wage collection records

DOL officials said the agreement “facilitates the seamless sharing of information and resources among the six states to address critical issues such as wage theft, employee misclassification, and other violations that threaten economic stability.”

“This alliance will help the Connecticut Department of Labor better protect our workforce and hold employers accountable for labor law violations,” state labor commissioner Danté Bartolomeo said.
