The Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday arraigned a social media user, Chidiebere Justice Mark, before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a three-count charge bordering on alleged cybercrime.
Mark, also known as Justice Crack, was accused of circulating false information in a viral video and accompanying statements on his X account alleging inadequate feeding of Nigerian Army personnel.
According to court documents, the DSS said the posts were false and intended to cause annoyance, ill will and hatred among members of the public.
The prosecution also alleged that the publication generated widespread negative reactions and was likely to cause fear and breach of peace.
A third count accused Mark of attempting to commit a felony by publishing derogatory content against the Nigerian Army.
Mark, who was reportedly arrested by the Nigerian Army over the weekend, pleaded to the charges as read in court.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik adjourned the matter until May 25, 2026, for trial and possible hearing of a bail application.
The court also ordered that he be remanded in DSS custody.
