CLEVELAND — The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office announced Thursday that a grand jury indicted an East Cleveland police officer on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges tied to three separate incidents spanning nearly two years.
According to a release, Officer Latasha Moore was indicted on allegations that include falsifying records, misusing police databases, assault and interfering with civil rights in incidents that occurred in January 2024, February 2025 and September 2025.
In the first case, prosecutors say Moore made false claims following a Jan. 7, 2024, traffic stop involving a 23-year-old woman. Authorities allege Moore reported that the woman ran over her feet and struck her legs with a vehicle door while fleeing the stop. Investigators later determined body camera footage directly contradicted those claims.
Prosecutors say Moore then filed false police reports, hospital records, court documents and workers’ compensation paperwork based on the alleged injuries.
In a second incident on Feb. 15, 2025, Moore is accused of improperly accessing East Cleveland police computer systems and investigative cameras for personal reasons. Prosecutors say she searched a license plate connected to a personal relationship to determine that individual’s location, which was outside the scope of her law enforcement duties.
