Media mogul Ekta R. Kapoor, along with her family and ALT Digital Media Entertainment Ltd., is preparing to take decisive legal action against those allegedly disseminating false and misleading information about them. In an official statement issued by her legal representative, Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee, Kapoor has signaled her intent to file a Rs. 100 Crore civil defamation lawsuit, coupled with criminal proceedings, against individuals propagating what has been labeled as defamatory and baseless claims.
Siddiquee’s legal notice asserts that certain parties, driven by “personal vested interests coupled with hidden agendas and criminal motives," are circulating misleading narratives regarding Kapoor. These allegations are tied to a 2020 police complaint, which, as confirmed in the statement, “was already closed by the said Police Department." Despite this closure, certain individuals have allegedly continued to exploit the matter, leveraging it to defame Kapoor and her media brand.
