Elizabeth Evelyn Hunter of Washingtonville, NY passed away on September 29, 2022, after a 6-year battle with lung cancer. She was 44.
As brilliant as she was beautiful, Elizabeth was a shining star in the lives of all who knew her. She was an accomplished employment lawyer who had achieved great success in her career, but more than anything, she was devoted to and loved being with her family – especially her three young children, husband, parents, and brother. In both her career and personal life, Elizabeth was committed to serving others with kindness, humility, and quiet strength. She was a role model for the many people who loved her.
Elizabeth was a 1996 graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School, where she was both the salutatorian and voted Most Likely to Succeed. She went on to attend Wellesley College, graduating magna cum laude in 2000. Elizabeth later attended the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, graduating in 2005 as a member of the honor society known as the Order of the Coif.
Elizabeth met her beloved husband, Brett Broge, while she was interning in the office of Senator Tom Harkin. Through the years they shared a passion for politics, supporting candidates and policies that helped vulnerable and under served people.
