Ex-Akerman Employment Partner Sues Firm for Discrimination - Law.com

A former Los Angeles Akerman partner has filed a lawsuit against the firm and its labor and employment practice group chair, Eric Gordon, for alleged discrimination and harassment.

The civil suit, surfaced Tuesday by Law.com Radar, was filed this week in Los Angeles Superior Court by Michelle Lee Flores, a 57-year-old labor and employment litigator who joined Akerman in February 2018.

Flores’ suit claims that she was subject to numerous types of discrimination and “unwanted harassment” based on her gender, disability status, and race while working at Akerman, as well as retaliation for reporting said issues, stating she was "treated differently and less favorably than her similarly situated non-Latina and male counterparts.”

A spokesperson for Akerman declined to comment, stating in an email, "We do not comment on pending litigation." Gordon also did not respond to a request for comment.
