Fact check: Dominion lawsuits against Powell, Giuliani ongoing - USA TODAY

The claim: Dominion lost its lawsuits against Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell

Social media posts asserting the 2020 election was "rigged" and "stolen" have not stopped circulating more than a year after President Joe Biden was sworn into office.

Many of those claims centered around Dominion Voting Systems' voting machines, which were used in 28 states in the 2020 presidential election.

After the election, Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani, onetime lawyers for former President Donald Trump, spread false information alleging the voting machines had been used to help rig the election. In January 2021, Dominion brought defamation suits against both lawyers.

A May 10 Facebook post, a screenshot of a tweet, claims that effort has failed. The post said, "Dominion LOST their law suits against Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell."

The Facebook post accrued nearly 800 shares in two days.

But both of those lawsuits are still ongoing. USA TODAY previously debunked similar claims that Dominion had lost its suits against Giuliani and Powellin June and November of 2021.

When asked for comment, the Facebook user directed USA TODAY to the Twitter account that posted the original tweet. That Twitter account did not respond to USA TODAY's request for comment.
