It stems from an article published by Real Raw News on Oct. 26 with a headline that reads: “JAG Convicts Janet Yellen of Treason.”

The Judge Advocate General Corps (JAG Corps) refers to a government legal organization that defends the Army in legal matters.

The article falsely claims that Yellen was convicted at a military tribunal held on Oct. 16.

The claim surfaced on various platforms including Facebook and TikTok.

No such case is logged in the U.S. Court Martial Public Record System, nor can it be seen in Navy-Marine Court filings.

Reuters did not find any credible media reports that Yellen was convicted.

The “About” section of the Real Raw News website carries a disclaimer that the site “contains humor, parody, and satire.”

Yellen has made several public appearances since the Real Raw News article was published.

She spoke at the Freedman's Bank Forum on Oct. 25, livestreamed by the U.S. Department of Treasury (timestamp: 4:48:04).

A day later, she appeared on Bloomberg to discuss U.S. economy figures.
