Officials say they have been hearing about deceptive sales tactics involving door-to-door solicitations and are urging those concerned to contact the police.
FALKVILLE, Ala. — The Town of Falkville is alerting residents after receiving reports that sales representatives from an internet service provider are going door-to-door and falsely claiming the town is encouraging residents to switch companies.
Town officials say the representatives have been telling residents that FlashFiber is "too expensive" and implying the town endorses switching to Brightspeed — a claim officials say is false. The town has no affiliation with any door-to-door internet or telephone solicitation and is not endorsing any such provider.
Falkville has a Door-to-Door Solicitation Ordinance in place and is directing any residents with concerns to contact the Falkville Police Department.
