The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office reached a $175,000 settlement with Dr. Ali Tural and his practice, Tural Pediatrics, Inc., in Fall River. The case involved billing MassHealth for services by physician assistants and nurse practitioners as if Dr. Tural had provided them, from January 2019 through January 2025, according to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The settlement includes a three-year compliance monitoring program for Dr. Tural and his practice. The program requires new policies, annual trainings, and audits on healthcare rules, with results shared with the AG’s Office, as reported by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Assistant Attorney General Mary-Ellen Kennedy and her team in the Medicaid Fraud Division, with help from MassHealth, investigate fraudulent activity in the state’s healthcare programs. The division receives $6,458,176 in federal funding for fiscal year 2026, plus $2,152,724 in state funds. Reports of fraudulent claims or suspected abuse of Medicaid patients and long-term care residents can be filed through the Attorney General’s Office’s website, as stated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
