Folsom city officials are setting the record straight regarding what they say is inaccurate information circulating about Fire Station 38, which is located at 1300 Blue Ravine Rd.
The inaccurate information, which was put forth on a social media post, stated that Fire Station 38 is facing an indefinite closure. Folsom Communications Manager Christine Brainard became aware of this information being discussed, and sent out an official response:
"The City of Folsom is committed to maintaining a strong emergency response for our community," said Brainard. "We are aware of inaccurate information circulating about an indefinite closure of Fire Station 38. While service modifications are being considered, the intent is to have fire station personnel staffed at all Folsom fire stations."
Brainard went on to say:
"A multi-stage budget process is underway to identify cost-cutting options, engage the community, and maintain transparency. Some services or programs could be modified or reduced as part of this process. Community input is essential to help the City Council understand resident priorities and values. The Council will review the budget, department proposals, and potential service level adjustments at upcoming meetings."
The meetings are scheduled for:
*Tuesday, September 28, at 6:30 pm
*Tuesday, October 14, at 6:30 pm
Both meetings will be held in the Council Chambers at Folsom City Hall, 50 Natoma Street. The community is encouraged to attend and share input.
