The Greens have warned that any deal reached at the Jobs and Skills Summit risks becoming nothing more than a “historical footnote” if the Albanese government does not grant its demands for significant and immediate minimum wage rises.
The party, whose Senate votes are key to passing legislation without Coalition support, will seek amendments to laws arising from the summit that lift the minimum wage to 60 per cent of median earnings, or $23.76 an hour.
