Gyeongnam Governor Election 'Deepfake Video Allegations' Continue ... Whistleblower Steps Forward: "No Orders to Produce Deepfakes" - 아시아경제

As debates intensify between Democratic Party candidate Kim Kyung-Soo and People Power Party candidate Park Wan-Soo over allegations of 'deepfake videos and government intervention in the election' related to the upcoming Gyeongnam Province governor election on June 3, the individual who claims to have produced the videos has personally come forward to state his position.

Mr. A, who said he was responsible for video production at Park Wan-Soo's campaign office from around mid-April to early May, held a press conference at the provincial government press center on June 1.

He explained that although he was in charge of video production, he was never instructed to create videos defaming candidate Kim using artificial intelligence (AI).

The initial whistleblower regarding the 'deepfake video and election manipulation' allegations related to the Gyeongnam provincial governor election is holding a press conference at the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Press Center.

Mr. A stated, "Under the direction of Company B, which can be described as an external organization affiliated with Park's campaign, the staff confirmed that a total of 32 short-form videos, including deepfake content, were uploaded and distributed on a YouTube channel with around 2,900 subscribers."

He continued, "While I did not have separate business cards during my time at the campaign, there was a video production team. My workspace was on the first floor of a container office located...
