The House plans action this week on the annual National Defense Authorization Act along with measures that would address abortion rights following the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade.
The Rules Committee is scheduled to meet tomorrow to set the terms of floor debate on those measures, which would need a simple majority for passage. The panel will also consider a bill on active shooter alerts that didn’t get the two-thirds needed when House leaders brought it to the floor last month using expedited procedures.
