'Internet activism is okay, but...':CBSE-OSM whistleblower Sarthak Siddhant has a word of caution for Cockroach Janta Party, founder Abhijeet Dipke - theweek.in

Even as the members of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), led by founder Abhijeet Dipke, is set to hold a "peaceful, constitution‑bound protest" on Saturday, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the lapses and alleged corruption in holding various exams, one of the three CBSE-OSM whistleblowers, Sarthak Siddhant, has come out with a message for the outfit and its leader.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Siddhant urged Dipke to make sure that the CJP is driven by a genuine cause and not "internet attention."

Siddhant, the 18-year-old student from Jharkhand affected by the CBSE's online marking system, had pointed out "irregularities" in the tendering process to select a vendor for the on-screen marking (OSM) system for Class XII board exams. He had also made a presentation before a parliamentary panel on Tuesday on the alleged irregularities in the OSM tendering process.

While he clarified that he would not "get political", Sidhant said any outfit or campaign by students should have "an actual cause."
