Jan. 6 committee to hear from ex-Trump campaign manager at hearing: live updates - USA TODAY
Monday's hearing, set to begin at 10 a.m., will examine former President Donald Trump's efforts to spread false information about the election.
WASHINGTON – Following Thursday's prime-time introduction to the Jan. 6 committee investigating the Capitol attack's findings, the second of eight hearings will dig into the details of former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
- What can we expect to learn?: Monday's hearing will provide evidence that Trump knew he had lost the election, but despite that, engaged in a "massive effort to spread false and fraudulent information," Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., said Thursday.
- Who is expected to testify?: Chris Stirewalt, a former Fox News political editor who helped call President Joe Biden’s win in Arizona, said Friday he will be testifying. He criticized former colleagues for creating the atmosphere that led to the attack.
- How do Trump and his allies respond?: Trump senior adviser Jason Miller disputed how his testimony was characterized at the Thursday hearing. Miller said after an aide told Trump he didn’t have the votes to win, the president “disagreed” with the analysis. Trump posted on social media Friday the election was “Rigged and Stolen,” and said his daughter had “checked out.”
