The justices on Monday rejected Heather Kokesch Del Castillo’s request to review a US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit ruling that threw out her lawsuit contending that Florida’s law violated her free speech rights.
Del Castillo’s argument turned on the Supreme Court’s 2018 ruling in National Institute of Family and Life Advocates v. Becerra, which clarified that “professional speech” regulated by licensing requirements isn’t a unique category of speech exempt from regular First Amendment scrutiny. ...
