On May 7, Kim Sae Ron’s family held a press conference including their legal representative Boo Ji Seok and GaroSero’s CEO Kim Se Eui, claiming the late actress had revealed her story to a man from New York called whistleblower who recorded it with her consent.
In the press conference, Sae Ron’s family claimed that the whistleblower was brutally attacked by two men. He was stabbed 9 times, was severely injured, and was admitted to the hospital. The attack was because he carried the evidence against Kim Soo Hyun.
However, later the whistleblower changed his statement and said that it all happened because of a confusion with his wife. He also revealed that he fabricated Sae Ron’s audio. Youtuber Lee Jin Ho claimed that he used heavy AI tools to alter the recording.
Talking about the recent update, according to ChosunBiz, the South Korean consulate, which is situated in New York, issued a statement revealing that no South Korean citizen has been arrested or detained in the whistleblower attack case.
The Consulate, in their official statement, revealed that as of now, they have not received any notification in the case. The statement issued reads, “We have not received any notifications related to this matter to date. This is not information we possess or can verify.”
