Lakota Schools board hires firm to investigate superintendent Matt Miller - WCPO 9 Cincinnati

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio — The leader of Lakota Local Schools will be investigated by an employment law firm hired Wednesday by his school board to review recent, non-criminal allegations against him.

The Lakota Board of Education conducted a special meeting Wednesday evening, and after hearing from speakers in the audience, members went into private executive session as allowed under Ohio law.

The executive meeting notice from the board cited reasons for the non-public meeting as being “for the purpose to consider the employment of a public employee. To consider the investigation of charges or complaints against a public employee and to conference with legal counsel concerning disputes that are the subject of pending or imminent court action.”

Upon re-convening into a public meeting, the board voted 5-0 to hire the national, employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. as an investigator to review non-criminal accusations against Lakota Schools Superintendent Matt Miller.

Miller then commented for the first time publicly since accusations surfaced saying the allegations against him “are false” and that he will continue to fully cooperate with the board’s investigation as he said he did with that of the Butler County Sheriff’s.
