TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Law enforcement personal are searching for inmate Shelby Goodnight after he unlawfully walked away from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections say 32-year-old Goodnight walked away from his housing unit Thursday at 10 p.m. After confirming his absence, local police and area hospitals were notified and search efforts began.

Officials also say they suspect Goodnight of also stealing a work truck from the McDonald's parking lot in Eufala around 9 a.m. Friday morning.

The work truck is described as a 2017 Ford F-150 with Oklahoma license plate V77028. It is a four-foot truck with "A 215" in black lettering beneath the F-150 badge on the front door quarter panel.

The truck is also missing the keyhole on the driver's side front door. The truck's vehicle identification number is "1FTFX1EF2HKC53460".

Goodnight is serving a 12 year sentence for burglary, a 12-year sentence for larceny of an auto aircraft or motor vehicle and a 12-year sentence for first degree burglary out of Cherokee County.

Goodnight is described as a five-foot-six-inches tall white man with low cut brown hair and hazel eyes.

ODOC says he has visible tattoos along his collar line and was last seen wearing orange shirts and white t-shirt.

Anyone who sees Goodnight or has information about his whereabouts should call 911.
