Lawyers acting for a Jewish man who attended an Egyptian restaurant in Sydney with The Daily Telegraph have claimed he was engaged in a bona fide investigation of antisemitism and threatened to sue the owner for defamation.
In a legal letter sent to Cairo Takeaway, in inner-western Newtown, solicitor Rebekah Giles demanded the deletion of “false claims” on the restaurant’s social media pages, including that her client had taunted staff and said: “I hope your restaurant gets blown up.”
