At the start of the June 27 BOS meeting, District 3 Supervisor Marvell Howard asked Bricklee Miller to relinquish the president’s role. Who should step down is Mr. Howard. He has been allowed by the BOS to spread untrue information about the county dam. President Miller is responsible for signing orders approved by the board, and when she reviewed signing board orders from the June 6 meeting, she questioned the wording of the request for proposals for decommissioning the lake dam.
The Dispatch reported: At the June 6 meeting, Miller made a motion to bring in another firm and encourage “competition.” She refused Trainer’s amendment to her motion, which would have allowed MEG to be charged with figuring out the cost of decommissioning the lake. Howard, demanded his yes vote was contingent on MSEG being allow to continue on their design.
Now Howard’s false claims are based on claims that County Administrator Delois Farmer and Roberson had no notes on excluding MEG. I was at the meeting and clearly heard the motion excluding MSEG so maybe better notes should be taken. Also, the June 7 Dispatch reported “the only dissenting vote to putting out an RFQ to get a cost estimate for decommissioning the dam was District 2 Supervisor Orlando Trainer. He told The Dispatch after the meeting that while he is not opposed to getting a cost estimate for decommissioning the dam, he is opposed to bringing another group in to generate the cost estimate.” The Dispatch went on and reported Mr...
