The deadly case in Michigan

for stronger gun controls

Re: Dec. 7 article, “Prosecutor faults school over run-up to shooting.”

After reading the events leading up to needless Michigan school carnage, it is clear that they have a very strong case.

The whole situation and the culpability of every involved party makes for a very strong case for better gun controls.

Are you listening, Congress? Or just praying again?

Re: Dec. 4 letter to the editor, "Demand that elected leaders publicly reject partisan politics."

Reject partisan politics? I couldn’t agree more. Democrats passed an infrastructure bill that 19 Republican senators supported (against the wishes of the former president) that will actually help keep America great.

Weatherizing electric grids and updating airports, roads, bridges and water systems is good for America, right?

While Democrats without GOP help made medical insurance an affordable reality for 20 million more Americans including those with pre-existing conditions, Republicans are again opposing the entire Democratic agenda.

Republican lawmakers should stop blocking President Biden’s efforts to fix supply chain issues, pass the annual National Defense Authorization Act, extend the Child Tax Credit, provide free preschool, improve home care services for seniors and address climate change. Working with the president would be bipartisan.
