Lincolnshire Housing Partnership clears up false claims about Grimsby migrant housing - Gi-Grimsby News

A local housing provider has cleared up misinformation circulating online about plans to house immigrants or migrants at a site in Grimsby.

False claims shared on social media alleged that a development site in the town had been purchased for 23 million by Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP) with the intention of exclusively housing immigrants and migrants.

However, the housing association has confirmed that this information is incorrect and said it has no plans to acquire homes on the site in question.

In a statement, the organisation also clarified that any future social housing allocations would follow the established Home Choice Lincs process, which is used by housing providers across North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

Under the scheme, homes are allocated according to housing need and eligibility criteria through a points-based system that takes into account factors such as overcrowding, medical needs and homelessness – not nationality or immigration status.
