Livid Brewdog chief James Watt reports BBC to Ofcom over ‘grossly false’ documentary claims... - The Scottish Sun

BREWDOG boss James Watt has gone to war with the BBC after reporting it to TV watchdogs over their “hatchet job” documentary about him.

The co-founder of the craft beer giant has also lodged an official complaint to the Beeb over the “hurtful lies” contained in the recent programme The Truth About BrewDog.

In the doc, claims are made by US-based ex-employees that his behaviour towards female members of staff was inappropriate.

Watt, 33, has submitted an undisclosed complaint with telly regulator Ofcom.

His formal grievance to the BBC contains 22 individual objections about the programme which was first aired in January.

After Watt initially complained to the corporation, eight corrections were made when it was repeated last month.

In a statement BrewDog said: “The false claims broadcast by the BBC included supposed warnings that were made to new female employees about Mr Watt, and the allegation that some female members of staff were deliberately scheduled off-shift or accompanied by others to avoid attention from him.

“BrewDog holds evidence (including shift rota data held by a third party and statements from fellow managers) proving that these claims are false.

"An independent report by workplace consultancy concluded last year that BrewDog was the target of the ‘most extreme case we’ve seen of a small group of former employees on a mission to cause damage to a brand’.
