Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell announced a $940,000 settlement resolving allegations that Northeast Health Services caused fraudulent claims to be submitted to MassHealth by failing to ensure that certain clinicians received appropriate supervision from a licensed clinician.
According to a press release issued by the attorney general’s office, MassHealth pays for mental health services provided to its members by qualified clinicians and counselors. Northeast, a Taunton-based company, and its former owners, Robert A. Conway and Wallace W. Varonko, have agreed to pay the settlement to resolve the claims.
