Ladapo ideal choice for surgeon general

One would expect a brilliant Gov. Ron DeSantis (with cum laude degrees from Yale and Harvard Law) to make brilliant picks. He did not disappoint when he picked Joseph Ladapo as Florida’s surgeon general.

Ladapo, a graduate of Harvard Medical School, earned a doctorate in health policy from Harvard and is a board-certified internist. He had professor status at University of California-Los Angeles prior to coming to Florida.

A perfect complement to the governor on COVID policies, Dr. Ladapo is in favor of parents choosing whether to mask their children in school and against school closures.

Like the governor, he is all for using and exploring therapeutics to combat COVID.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and borne out by experience, the vaccines do not necessarily prevent you from getting COVID or spreading it.

We were hoping for another medical miracle like the polio, smallpox, measles and tetanus vaccines, but got something less. The omicron variant is very contagious, but causes an inherently milder disease than the original or delta.

Many countries have reported good results with therapeutics not allowed in the U.S. Time for a change.
