Napoleon accused Snoop Dogg of sneak dissing 2Pac with false praise. During a recent The Art of Dialogue episode, the former Outlawz emcee was asked about Allen Hughes speaking on Shakur and Snoop’s relationship. Hughes asserted that Snoop “dimmed his light so that Pac could shine,” to which Napoleon claimed, “these individuals didn’t even like Pac.”
“Some of these individuals, they very slick,” he said. “You have the Hughes brothers, you have certain individuals like Snoop, for example — they have a way where they’re acting like they’re praising Pac, but they putting him down…Like [Hughes] said, ‘[Snoop] dimmed his light for Pac to shine.’ They do it in such a slick way so you can be like, ‘Oh wow, he’s not a hater.'”
In April, Napoleon spoke on Snoop being “jealous” of the late rapper. He told The Art of Dialogue that the Doggystyle emcee was outshined by Shakur while on Death Row. As a result, he believes that’s why Snoop has been actively speaking positively about him in the media over the years.
“It’s sad. And one of the reasons why I always try to correct this is because him and Pac weren’t friends. I already know why he doin’ that, bro. Imagine if you’re the biggest star on Death Row, and Pac come and take all your shine, you understand?
