Nike Employees Continue to Make New Discrimination Claims, Lawyer Says - Business Insider

Nike implemented a wave of changes after a gender discrimination lawsuit was filed in 2018. But the lawyer leading the case, Laura Salerno Owens, says complaints from Nike employees against the company continue to roll in.
She said current and former Nike employees — who are not part of the ongoing lawsuit — have approached her office as recently as this year alleging discriminatory practices.
"Notwithstanding Nike's public relations, since we filed our class action in 2018, our firm has not seen a decrease in the number of employees who we are representing to combat Nike's discriminatory practices," Salerno Owens said in response to questions from Insider.
Salerno Owens declined to answer questions about her statement, citing legal and ethical obligations. She is president and shareholder of the law firm Markowitz Herbold PC. Salerno Owens has represented Nike employees in the past, and her firm could financially benefit from additional cases.
