North Carolina Restaurant Sued Over Drag Show False Advertising - Country 103.7
We lived in Monroe, North Carolina for several years. And, we love the downtown vibe that developed over the years. There’s plenty of great little restaurants and fun spots for beer and cocktails. Plus, they even approved a social district last year. And, one of our favorite spots is East Frank Superette and Kitchen. But now, the North Carolina restaurant was sued over drag show false advertising claims.
According to WCNC, the suit claims East Frank allegedly took photos of protestors and used them to falsely show support for the drag shows in advertising. The controversy has been bubbling for a while now. East Frank Superette and Kitchen is a lovely place to hang out and grab a drink and some food. And, from time to time they do host drag related events. We happened upon their drag show bingo event last year while looking for a place to hang with friends. Honestly, it was just a bunch of folks enjoying themselves and dancing. I didn’t see anything inappropriate going on that evening. But, I wholeheartedly support everyone’s right to make their own decisions about attending similar events.
But, of course, some residents are upset. And, there are protests at the events. There are certainly those who would prefer the shows be shut down completely. But, the restaurant leaves it up to guardians to decide if minors attend. However, the restaurant faces the suit for allegedly altering the protester photos to show something they’re not.
