The owners of a Cleveland nursing home may be individually liable for allegedly firing an employee one day after he disclosed he was Muslim.
Religious discrimination claims against employees who are the employer aren’t precluded by state law, the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio ruled Thursday.
Mirduh Spahija worked as a financial controller with Rae-Ann Holdings, Inc., doing business as Rae Ann Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Centers, and was a “model employee,” according to the complaint.
