The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a lawsuit against a Queens, NY-based security company for allegedly discriminating against a 57-year-old employee based on his age and disability, the agency said on Wednesday.
The company allegedly denied work assignments to and then fired an employee after he suffered a heart attack on the job. The employee also endured negative comments about his age and ability to work by his supervisor, conduct that would violate the Americans with Disabilities Act as well as the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, according to the EEOC.
