The whistleblower complaint accuses North Royalton Police Chief Keith Tarace and a lieutenant of altering Lowe’s police report.
NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio — Orange Village Deputy Chief Patrick O’Callahan has been placed on administrative leave after being charged with OVI and traffic violations following a traffic stop in North Royalton.
According to Parma Municipal Court records, O’Callahan was charged with:
OVI
Speeding (55 mph in a 35 mph zone)
Driving on the right side of the roadway
He entered a not guilty plea to all charges. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Nov. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
In a press release, the Orange Village Police Department said it has been made aware of the incident and the charges against O’Callahan. The department noted that he was “immediately placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.”
“The Orange Village Police Department takes all such matters very seriously and is committed to conducting a thorough internal investigation into the incident,” the department said in a statement.
According to the Orange Village Police Department’s website, O’Callahan has been with the department since February 1994. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2005 and to deputy chief in 2024.
