Pak accepts ‘whistleblower’ ETPB chief’s resgnation - Times of India

Amritsar: The Pakistan government has accepted Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) chairman Habib-ur-Rehman-Gillani’s resignation that he had submitted under suspicious circumstances on May 2 citing “personal reasons” after exposing internal corruption.
Section officer Imad-ud-Din said on Friday that: “The federal government is pleased to accept the resignation.” Gillani had not explained his “personal reasons” in the four-line resignation letter to the religious affairs and interfaith harmony ministry’s secretary, but sources claimed that Gillani had been punished for reporting some senior officials of the board to the ministry during the visit of Indian pilgrims and resisting the pressure to remain silent.
The sources also claimed that officers had siphoned big money from the board in the name of creating facilities for the Indian pilgrims. A source said: “Corruption in transportation, currency exchange, and stay arrangements in connivance with the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee had come to the fore.
