PC accused of falsely claiming he was responding to emergency while speeding on M27 - Daily Echo

A police officer accused of ‘perverting the course of justice’ is due to appear in court for speeding offences in Southampton.

PC Stuart Laws, 40, has been issued with a postal requisition in connection with two charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the charges relate to two separate alleged speeding incidents involving PC Laws.

It is alleged that PC Laws claimed he was responding to emergency calls at the time of the incidents.

The offences are said to have taken place in August 2025 on the M27 and in December 2025 in Southampton.

PC Laws is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 28.

The officer, who is based in Winnall, is currently suspended from duty.
