WINTER HAVEN — In what may be a first for Polk State College, the Board of Trustees has voted to fire a professor on a continuing contract based on a bad performance review.
The board voted 5-2 at a specially called meeting Nov. 17 to follow Polk State President Angela Garcia Falconetti’s recommendation and terminate the contract of Bill Caldecutt, a science professor of 22 years and the longtime Faculty Senate president.
