Six months after attorneys disputed an employer’s vicarious liability for a 2018 collision involving an employee commuting to work, the Supreme Court of Georgia has issued a ruling clarifying the framework for making such determinations.

In a unanimous opinion released Tuesday, justices determined respondeat superior liability—the general rule that an employer is responsible for the negligent acts or omissions of its employees—applied in the underlying Athens-Clarke County auto injury case.
