Ron DeSantis amplifies false claim endangering high school teachers - ramaponews.com

Halloween is a fun time for people of all ages to dress up and wear fun costumes. In that spirit, a group of Arizona teachers at Cienega High School decided to dress up in a blood-stained white shirt with the words “Problem Solved” written on it, alluding to solving a math problem.

What was supposed to be a fun costume with a group of coworkers turned dark when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet shared a social media post claiming that the teachers were glorifying the murder of conservative talk show host Charlie Kirk.

Immediately after the post went viral, other prominent MAGA figures such as Utah Senator Mike Lee and swimmer Riley Gaines shared the post and accused the teachers of mocking Kirk’s death simply because the shirt was white and the blood was on the same side as the influencer’s gunshot wound.

According to WIRED, the high school where the teachers worked received messages, emails and at least one voicemail containing racial slurs, calls for the teachers to be fired, information about the school staff and threats of violence.

In a response which was shared with Newsweek, Superintendent John Carruth apologized on behalf of the school district, clarifying that the shirts were worn simply in reference to solving math problems, but that he could see how it could be misinterpreted.
