Scots care home staff ‘whistleblower’ cleared of gross misconduct claims... - The Scottish Sun

A CARE home worker has been cleared of allegations of gross misconduct.

Samantha Herron, 47, told how she faced four serious accusations and an internal probe at the facility.

But the ‘whistleblower’, of Arbroath, was cleared of wrongdoing and allowed to return to the town’s Monkbarns Care Home.

It was later branded “weak” in a scathing report by watchdogs.

Samantha said: “I fought it for seven months. I’m a total wreck because of it.

Scotland’s booster programme ‘didn’t prioritise care homes as much as it did at start of jab rollout’, warns sector boss

“I don’t sleep at night, I’m on medication and I’m seeing a counsellor. It nearly ruined my relationship with my family and husband.”

Samantha reported concerns about patient care on February 2.

But three weeks later she claims she was grilled over allegations she threatened to call inspectors again.

She was also accused of insubordination and failing to administer treatments correctly.

The Care Inspectorate gave the elderly hub a two out of six quality rating in May.

A report highlighted “unclean” mattresses and a risk to people’s “dignity and respect”.

Home operator Balhousie Care Group said: “We fully investigate complaints and take necessary action.”
