Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Files $50M Defamation Suit Against NewsNation over False Claims - eurweb.com

*Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against music manager Courtney Burgess, Burgess’s attorney Ariel Mitchell, and Nexstar Media Inc., the operator of NewsNation.

According to Page Six, the lawsuit, filed in the Southern District of New York, accuses Burgess of fabricating damaging claims about Combs, which Mitchell allegedly supported and NewsNation broadcasted. Burgess appeared on NewsNation in 2024, claiming he had flash drives containing alleged sex tapes from an incarcerated rapper. These videos allegedly involve celebrities and minors who all appear under the influence. Mitchell alleged that a male celebrity in the tapes is more prominent than Combs.

“I can verify that it exists — that it’s real and that the other person in the video is very visible,” she insisted. “There’s no question of if it’s that person in the video.”

According to Combs’ complaint, Burgess “falsely claimed that he possessed videos of Mr. Combs involved in the sexual assault of celebrities and minors.”

Burgess repeated the allegations to reporters for major news outlets, including NewsNation.

“Thus, Burgess’ baseless lies were rebroadcast on social and traditional media platforms that reach millions of viewers in the United States and abroad.” the suit states, accusing Mitchell of knowing “that her client’s claims were false or at a minimum was utterly reckless in disregarding their falsity.”
