Sheridan divorce case nears conclusion | News, Sports, Jobs - Youngstown Vindicator

YOUNGSTOWN — As the divorce case involving imprisoned former Braking Point Recovery Center owner Ryan P. Sheridan and Kristin Sheridan winds down, the attorneys for both sides provided Mahoning County Domestic Relations Court Wednesday with a filing stating what each side believes the outcome of the case should be.

Ryan Sheridan is in federal prison after being sentenced to 7 1/2 years in January 2020 for committing 60 crimes while running the company from 2015 to 2017.

Prosecutors said the company was paid $24.5 million in false Medicaid claims and that Sheridan, 41, drove his employees to file the false claims to increase billings. Sheridan was ordered to pay $24.5 million in restitution. Two others who worked for Sheridan were ordered to pay smaller amounts.

The couple was married Aug. 29, 2018. He was jailed in March 2019 after he and several associates, including his first wife, Jennifer Sheridan, were indicted in October 2018 in the case.

In his divorce filing from Kristin Sheridan and in a separate civil suit, Ryan Sheridan asked the court to order Kristin Sheridan to return funds she transferred out of Sheridan Enterprises using a power of attorney Ryan Sheridan authorized.

Ryan Sheridan’s initial divorce filing and separate civil suit alleged Kristin Sheridan “abused her power of attorney and breached her fiduciary duty” to Ryan Sheridan by transferring funds from Ryan Sheridan’s assets and using them for herself.
