Position Description:
An employee in this class is the portal of entry for CPS and APS reports, either in-person or via telephone. The employee handles highly sensitive and confidential information. Work involves providing information and referral services to parents/adults and community partners in an effort to prevent maltreatment. Work also involves facilitation duties in regards to child and family team meetings. This employee is also assigned quality assurance duties to help improve and sustain high quality service delivery across child welfare and adult services. The employee must demonstrate a high level of knowledge and good judgment in carrying out the duties of this position. Employee works under the direct supervision of the Adult Services Social Work Supervisor III.
Responsibilities:
• Receives reports of adult or child maltreatment in a timely manner.
• Represents agency and adult/child welfare procedures to the public in the portal of entry for services.
• Assures sufficient information is gathered from reporters to make a determination of need for agency intervention based upon law and policy.
• Researches agency and State Central Registry records, as allowed by law and policy, to assist in determining appropriate intervention to referral.
