Trailmate launched as its own entity in January 2026 to handle client communication and administrative tasks such as onboarding and evidence collection, describing itself as the first fully autonomous, client-facing digital employee. Trailmate is a digital employee for law firms. It handles all the back-and-forth with clients, from chasing documents, gathering information, sending reminders, etc, so lawyers and staff don’t have to. It handles client communication end to end, from intake through resolution, in a way that can be supervised by the law firm.
Trailmate is a client-facing, agentic AI system for law firms that autonomously executes structured workflows with clients. Firms delegate work via natural language, which Trailmate converts into a structured list of tasks, and engages the client in multimodal conversations (text and voice). Through these structured conversations, Trailmate validates completion of each objective and reports outcomes back to the firm through a dashboard.
