The wife of suspended IPS officer D Mahesh Kumar in Tamil Nadu has alleged that the sexual harassment complaint filed against him by a woman police constable was a “revenge move.”
Mahesh Kumar, who was serving as Joint Commissioner of Traffic (Chennai North), was initially placed under vacant reserve following the complaint. After a preliminary inquiry, he was suspended. The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is now handling the case.
His wife, Anuradha, claimed that the complaint was false and was deliberately filed on their wedding anniversary. “He was a sincere officer. He was woken up at midnight, and the suspension order was served yesterday, which was our wedding day,” she said.
