Tarot Card TikToker Ordered to Pay $10 Million For Falsely Accusing Professor of Idaho Murders - Oxygen Official Site

A self-proclaimed psychic on TikTok has been ordered to pay $10 million in damages for falsely claiming that a University of Idaho professor was involved in the brutal 2022 murders that claimed the lives of four students.

A federal jury reached the judgement against social media influencer Ashley Guillard on Feb. 27 after finding there was a “preponderance of evidence” to suggest that Guillard posted a series of videos on TikTok falsely claiming that University of Idaho professor Rebecca Scofield Scofield had “orchestrated” the murders, according to court documents obtained by Oxygen.com.

The jury awarded Scofield $6.5 million in damages related to the claims Guillard made about the murders on social media and another $3.5 million for false statements Guillard made in the videos that implied that the history professor had an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Guillard told Oxygen.com she is planning to appeal the decision.
