Tehran rejects Arab League’s ‘false claims’ on three Iranian islands - IRNA English
The Iranian Foreign Ministry urged the Arab League to uphold Islamic-Arab unity in confronting the Israeli regime and refrain from any actions or rhetoric that divert regional and global attention from the core issue.
Tehran, IRNA – Iran has reiterated its undisputed sovereignty over the three Persian Gulf islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb, dismissing claims made in a joint statement by the Arab League’s foreign ministers.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry roundly rejected “the false claims and baseless accusations against Iran contained in the final statement of the Arab League Council of Foreign Ministers meeting.”
“Repeating baseless assertions in similar statements will not alter the geographical, historical, or legal realities of these islands,” reads the statement, noting that all Iranian measures on the three islands are in line with the country’s sovereign rights to safeguard their security and safety and to protect national interests.
While commending the Arab League’s strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza and the regime’s crimes elsewhere, the statement urged the bloc to uphold Islamic-Arab unity in confronting the Israeli regime and refrain from any actions or rhetoric that divert regional and global attention from the core issue.
Separately, the Foreign Ministry also rejected the accusation of sending military shipments to Yemen and interfering in that Arab country's affairs
