WASHINGTON (TNND) — Emil Bove, the third in command at the Department of Justice, is facing allegations from a third whistleblower who said that Bove, who is awaiting senate confirmation for a federal judgeship, misled the Senate Judiciary Committee.
The accusations were first shared with Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), who is calling on the Justice Department to do a full probe before the Senate votes on Bove's confirmation.
“We have substantial information relevant to the truthfulness of the nominee,” Booker said in a speech on the Senate floor ahead of a preliminary vote on Bove’s nomination.
Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) joins Booker in his calls to have the the top watchdog investigate the whistleblowers' claims.
Just a few weeks ago, a fired Justice Department lawyer by the name of Erez Reuveni shared with Congress emails and text exchanges which supported his allegation that Rove defied Judge James Boasberg's order to halt the deportation flight of 130 Venezuelans to El Salvador which occurred on March 15.
And just a couple days ago, lawyers representing a second whistleblower made the unnamed whistleblower's May complaint with the Department of Justice...
