Today, former president Donald Trump attacked the Jan. 6 hearings, accusing the House select committee investigating the 2021 attack on the Capitol of presenting a “phony narrative,” while doubling down on his false claims that he won the 2020 election, during an address to a conservative political advocacy group.
In lengthy remarks, Trump lashed out at the committee, Democrats and even his own former aides and allies, particularly former vice president Mike Pence and former attorney general William P. Barr. “Mike did not have the courage to act,” Trump said Friday at a Faith and Freedom Coalition event in Nashville. Barr, he added, did not support his efforts because he was afraid of being impeached.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) administration will move forward with a proposal that would block Medicaid coverage of treatments often used by transgender people , including puberty-blocking medication and hormone therapy.
The rule, published on the Florida Administrative Register, centers on gender dysphoria, and lists the following treatments as services no longer covered by the program: puberty blockers, hormone and hormone antagonists, sex reassignment surgeries, and “any other procedures that alter primary or secondary sexual characteristics.”
